We took a roadtrip up to Namibia last weekend.  Kim had to leave the country and come back in to clear her status in the country.  So we had to kiss the beautiful Kaapstaad goodbye for the weekend.  The bus was the only logical option, as flights would be super expensive for such a quick trip.

The bus trip between Windhoek and Cape Town, which I have taken a couple of times is a long and arduous one at 22 hours.  Our trip to the south of Namibia, Keetmanshoop, would take 15 hours each way.

Along the way I took these photos of the beautiful South African countryside in the northwestern province.  Leaving Cape Town we went through wine country and encountered many of the fires which had threatened a number of wine estates.  Then we moved into an area called Namaqualand which is quite rugged and natural.  Finally we travelled across the Orange River and into Namibia to Keetmanshoop.

Keetmanshoop is a sleepy little town and we did not really do much while there.  We stayed in a lovely little guesthouse and spent most of the weekend watching movies!!!
